Thought of the Day

"A truly humble man is sensible of his natural distance from God; of his dependence on Him; of the insufficiency of his own power and wisdom; and that it is by God's power that he is upheld and provided for, and that he needs God's wisdom to lead and guide him, and His might to enable him to do what he ought to do for Him." — Jonathan Edwards

Thought of the Day

One of my (hopefully) daily features of G2G will be Thought of the Day. These are just quotes I've found from many different theolgians, pastors, writers, etc. Here's the first, from the 'Prince of Preachers':

God’s great design in all His works is the manifestation of His own glory. Any aim less than this were unworthy of Himself. He cannot act for the good of His creatures as an ultimate aim, for that were for God to be impelled by a motive less great than His own nature. Since there can be nothing greater than the infinite, and there can be but one infinite—if the infinite God be moved by an infinite motive which is the only one worthy of Him, that motive must be found in His own glory. --C.H. Spurgeon
